Donations In Kind (DIK) Northern Region
The address of the storage and packing venue is -
27-29 Mary Street Kingston
Donations in Kind is a great Rotary initiative recycling used medical, school and general equipment.
Rotary clubs collect items from various schools, hospitals, or businesses, and send to the Donations In Kind centre where the items are checked, packed and dispatched to locations in need.
Wherever these consignments go – there is immense gratitude and goodwill towards Rotary and Australia.

Donations in Kind is desperate for funds for Containers and Shipping.  The average cost per container and freight is around $8000 and I urge each D9640 Club to consider a target donation each Rotary Year of $500-$1000.
Donations can be lodged at the following link:  https://donations.rawcs.com.au/Default.aspx?ProjectID=789&ReturnTo=4

On the donated Goods side – we routinely receive at the DIK depot goods that cannot be shipped.  These all have to be disposed of and like many welfare agencies the costs of waste disposal has become significant.

Please do not send household furniture, or household electrics and utensils of any kind, used general clothing, plastic toys and bric a brac, damaged chipboard cupboards and desks.

If your Rotary club receives inquiry about donating school or health type equipment - please raise the question about a donation of funding towards freight for collection and transport to the DIK Depot.  Most large organisations have a budget for disposal of excess items. RAWCS/DIK Northern Region simply does not have funds to pay for commercial collection of these goods.

Finally come and join the volunteers – any Thursday morning from 8 am onwards, or the first Saturday of each month (not January) for Container loadups.
