ABOUT US
Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where together, people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
OUR DISTRICT AT A GLANCE
Our District covers an area of approximately 87,000 square kilometres, across the states of Queensland and New South Wales in Australia From the country to the coast, we are bounded by Grafton in the south, Goondiwindi in the west and the Gold Coast in the north.
We are comprised of over 1,100 members spread across 54 Rotary Clubs. 2 Rotaract Clubs, 14 Interact Clubs an EarlyAct Club and a ROTEX Club all supported by our District Leaders and a range of support teams.
Our District is part of Rotary International Zone 8 and, as part of a pilot program, clubs in our District are part of the Rotary South Pacific region.
WHO WE SUPPORT
Our clubs have a rich history of providing service locally and internationally. Programs our clubs have undertaken cover a wide range of needs including -
- Disaster relief and support
- Providing medical and other equipment for those in need
- Supporting the most vulnerable in our communities
- Providing educational and learning opportunities to allow youth and others to thrive
- Developing and supporting community events and infrastructure
