RYTS (Rotary Youth Transition Seminar)
Our attendants consist of five Rotaractors, four friends of the Rotaractors, four Rotarians and four friends of Rotary, who all come together to form an amazing, committed team and who have given up six months of their time each year to implement a program which we call (RYTS) Rotary Youth Transition Seminar.
The Seminar requires the attendance of around sixty Awardees for a weeklong duration to be successful. This year we reached our target. Thanks to all our participating Rotary Clubs for your wonderful support. A further thanks to all the sponsoring clubs who made the effort to attend the dinner, your Awardees really appreciated your company.
Many “on camp” tasks are preformed by the Awardees but none are beyond the capacity of the individual participants, such as introducing and thanking the speakers, public speaking, producing a daily newspaper, washing pots, cleaning the kitchen and dining room floors and providing entertainment each evening. Camp attendants provide adequate encouragement and supervision at all times.

Our ‘on camp” aims are
1. To increase the understanding and empathy between awardees and team members through personal interaction at an individual level.
2. To develop a sense of responsibility through reinforcement of positive social behaviours and the development of positive work related ethic.
3. To develop positive negotiations and problem solving skills.
4. To encourage the utilisation of local community service and resources.
In closing I would like to thank the District Governors who have given me the most amazing opportunity as chairperson for the past three years.
Judy Aitken.
