Dear Rotary Colleagues:
A tremendous opportunity awaits you, the opportunity to participate directly
in the planning of the Rotary Foundation's (TRF) Future Vision Plan (FVP).
By participating the Trustees of TRF are going to give you the
specifications and blueprints for long-range improvements in the Foundation
and simply say to you, "Here are the new guidelines - now help us to build
better Foundation programs in and for your districts!"
We have devoted the first ten pages of this month's OUR FOUNDATION to help
you make the choice to participate (or not). The application period for the
pilot will begin immediately after the 2009 International Assembly (IA) in
January 2009 and con tinue through 15 May. Selected districts will be
notified and announced to the Rotary world this June.
We strongly urge you to choose to participate - for the FVP will provide
more local controls and more options for the districts that submit
successful bids for the pilot phase. See pages 1 to 10.
Please read the many other Foundation Articles in this issue.
We strongly urge you to read the first-hand account of the "Terror in
Mumbai" (pages 26-29) written20by Past RRFC and Rotary Centers Major Gifts
Initiative Committee Member Gulam Vahanvaty.
With this issue I will hand-over the Editor-in-Chief position of Our
Foundation Newsletter to Calum Thomson. Calum, a member of the Rotary Club
of Longniddry & District, Scotland has been a frequent editorial contributor
to Our Foundation.
It has been my privilege to work for you over these past seven years.
Thank you!
Very truly yours,
Eddie
