RYPEN - Send us your tweens!

The Rotary Youth Program of ENrichment (RYPEN) camp for 2012 is in full organisational swing. Our 2011 camp was a roaring success attended by close to 70 high school students aged from 14 to 17 years. During the camp there were motivational speakers who discussed issues that are important and topical to this age group including goal setting, healthy relationships and job interview tactics.

These more serious parts of the camp were accompanied by fun, team based interaction and laughter through activities such as the RYPEN Olympiad, Iron man challenge and circus night. The RYPEN committee would like to take this opportunity to thank each of the Rotary clubs within our district who sourced and sponsored students to attend our 2011 camp. Without your ongoing support this program wouldn't continue. We would also like to ask you to help us out, by sponsoring a student, once again this year.

For more information on RYPEN please contact Debbie Dawkings (Chairperson) at info@dawkingsfamily.com

MUNA 2012

Rotary District 9640 is proud to announce that the Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA) will be held on March 17th, 2012 at the Tweed Heads Civic Centre from 9.00am (NSW time).

The Model United Nations Assembly is a Rotary International project. Teams of 3 students nominated from years 11 or 12 meet under the auspices of District 9640 Rotarians giving the students the opportunity to select a country, research its history, politics, economics, people, international alignment and make real life stances on world affairs. Having chosen a country they then debate selected resolutions from that country’s point of view.

The Expression of Interest should be sent by mail to the MUNA Chairman, Graham Howie, by 16th December, 2011. Address details are on the form.

Additional forms and information pertaining to registration will be posted to this site late January, 2012.

MUNA 2012 is proudly supported by the Tweed Shire Council.
