Rotary Scholarship for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Nursing Student

Confirmation was recieved yesterday that the NSW government has agreed to contribute $3680 to the Rotary Scholarship to cover payment of HECS fees. This makes the scholarship more comprehensive and is now valued at $7400.

The combined Rotary Clubs of Lismore are pleased to offer a scholarship to an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student enrolled to study within the School of Nursing during 2004 at Southern Cross University’s Lismore Campus. This scholarship will be awarded on academic merit and/or excellence of performance in an area relevant to the course of study of the student and is available at Residential Colleges at Lismore campus.

Benefits

Each scholarship holder will receive the following benefits (Approximate value $7,400):
• Payment of all accrued HECS fees for 2004.
• Free accommodation in a single bedroom within a share unit for a full academic year.
• Payment of all electricity charges.
• Payment of Collegiate Services Fees for the academic year including membership of Rivers Association (Student Club).
• Payment of College Administration fees.

The residential units are self-catering. Students need to provide their own food and other consumable items.
