DG Heather officially congratulated Roy Hornsby (Surfers Paradise) for formally accepting the role as District Webmaster. The District Web Site Committee has also recorded its appreciation of the work and dedication of Acting Webmaster, Roy Hornsby, in undertaking the commencement of the website.

  • Offer links to major Rotary Websites.
  • Offer contact details.
  • Offer links with Club websites.
  • Promote the benefits of communications over the Internet.
  • Offer links to Club Newsletters.
  • Offer lists of Guest speakers.
  • That care be taken with Internet security.
  • That backup details of articles in Flying Times continue.
  • That Members be encouraged to appreciate the mutual benefits of an effective website.

Vocational Service in Action

The second Avenue of Service. High ethical standards in business and professions; The recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society.

CPR2000 Coordinator Des advises he has training programs available for CPR2000 "Peer Trainers" Certificate Course using Training Centres from Coolangatta to Southport. If any Rotarians would like to become Peer Trainers in CPR please contact Des. Ph 07 5575 2594.
It is most encouraging that most Clubs have elected to carry out a Vocational project for the benefit of Members and are planning a CPR2000 awareness evening.

Literacy and Numeracy Update. Congratulations to Bill Hoyer of the Gold Coast Intitute of TAFE. Bill has a program to encourage 10 to 14 year old children to attend a new youth class in literacy and numeracy. Other schools are involved. Bill is a most popular guest speaker

Australian Rotary Health Research Fund Minties for Health Research.

Rotary Partnership at Gold Coast Medical Association Health Expo
Sat. November 4th at Southport RSL.

Rotarian Dr. Maryse Badawy (President of GCMA) advises that South Coast Radiology is donating an ultrasound machine to Rotary for use in a country of need.
