New Generations in Action

MUNA - Model United Nations Assembly

Robina Town Centre on March 3

The aim of MUNA is to increase participants awareness of the United Nations and to help them better understand the position of other countries on matters of International importance. It also develops debating and speaking skills in a different way to that ever experienced by students. I invite Clubs to consider sponsoring one or more teams to this very cost effective program for year 11 -12 students. Exchange students are encouraged to take part and to act as mentors to a Nation Team.

From the MUNA 2 students are chosen to represent D.9640 at a National MUNA held in old Parliament House Canberra.

First ever International MUNA will be held in Sydney in April and another 2 students will be selected and sponsored to attend this historic MUNA experience.

Resolutions this year are; Security of Women, Technology, Human Rights of Refugees, Elimination of Land Mines, Social Issues & Drug control, UN Peacekeeping issues.

This is a low cost high benefit program that you can easily form a team of 3 students who will really appreciate the experience. Chair. Brian Wheatley 02 6688 0153 wheatley@turboweb.net.au
